I love living in Asheville
I grew up about 50 miles west of Asheville (Webster, near Sylva and Cullowhee – Western Carolina University), lived in Virginia (gave tours at Colonial Williamsburg — ask me how that prepared me for a real estate career!) and other parts of North Carolina. But I could never adjust to life without the mountains, so we settled in Asheville permanently in 2000. Asheville provides me with a artsy culture, great eating, and most importantly, hiking and mountain biking.
When I started in real estate in 2001, I quickly knew I had found my groove – finally. Real Estate is my business, and I don’t dabble in it by selling an occasional home; it is my full-time (sometimes more than full-time) profession. I love everything about it, especially working with people to find the right home or helping folks sell their homes so that they can move along to the next adventure in life. I even like the marketing and the paperwork!
What I can offer to you is an agent who cares about your best interests (I really do), will listen to understand your needs and work with them, whether it is working within your budget, finding the right space for a family member or friend to live with you, or needing the right set-up for your pets! Finding a home is a cooperative process between buyer and agent, and it can be very positive and fun.
I understand that people sell homes for a lot of reasons, not all of which are happy. I have worked with people in financial distress to avoid foreclosure, people going through the loss of a loved one, people in the unhappy process of divorce. I don’t “enjoy” these transactions, but I try to make the process easier and let folks know that I understand. It is fun to help people sell who are excited about moving on to the next phase. That could be moving for a retirement dream, downsizing so they can travel, upsizing to their dream house, or joining households with someone they love. Real estate, to me, mirrors life in that it is about the relationships. I bring the experience and expertise to the relationship and the transaction.
I have exceeded basic licensee training by earning several certifications listed below, and I will continue to enrich my knowledge of the Real Estate business in order to better serve my clients and to do the job well. I take my business seriously, and believe that customer service is the most important thing I do.
My husband, Jimmy, is retired but still a licensed agent. He helps me out when I need to be in two places at once, so that means we are usually able to get you in to see a house in a timely manner. I do, however, take him on vacation with me 🙂
I try to stay involved in my community and networked to provide you, my client, with the best services for whatever you may need. Having grown-up in Western North Carolina, I can help you find the right neighborhood or town as well as the best hiking trails, gardens, craft centers and local restaurants! I support local organizations like Manna Food Bank, ABCCM (Asheville-Buncombe Community Christian Ministries, which does truly amazing work) and Asheville Humane Society. I am a member of the Preservation Society of Asheville & Buncombe County. On a broader scale, RE/MAX supports Children’s Miracle Network. And the Human Rights Campaign has been dear to my heart.
I have moved a good bit so I know how stressful the process can be. I will do all I can to ease your transition and look forward to working with you!

Reviews
When I am not selling Real Estate I enjoy gardening, hiking, fitness, and travel. Jimmy and I moved to the ‘burbs after 20 years in town! Neither of us thought that would ever happen, but as it turns out, we love living in Biltmore Lake with all the walking/hiking/bike trails and the lake. We have taken up pickleball and kayaking on the lake – who knows, maybe we will soon be those “Asheville” people with the kayaks on the roof of the car and bikes on the back. We share our lives with dog, Josie, and two kitties, Pixie and Honey as well as with my Mom, who lives with us.
